Love on 'LOC'

It's an imagination story by me about the love of a caption of Indian Army posted on LOC(Line of Control) and a lieutenant pakistani officer. The story based on the war between love and duty.

Kunal singh, a cadet of NDA, got his first posting after the training at Ladakh on the lines of LAC( Line of Actual Control) as a lieutenant. He was from Kumaon Regiment of Indian Army. The DGMO sent 10 battalions at ladakh to tackle an imminent sign of attack from Chinese Liberation Army. " Offensive Defence ", saying as the goal .

Kunal was very strict in personality and can be called 'class room theory officer'.He believed in 'Veer Vogye Vasundhara'.His best part was his ability, determination, stubborn sturn attitude and skills in military operations. He was given charge of 74th battalions. He stayed at Ladakh for nearly 4 months to counter operations. But then one incident took place in kargil. That's why He was shifted from Ladakh to Kargil.

Some intruders attempted to enter into India via LOC ( Line of Control) and they were backed by Pakistani soldiers. In the Border, Pakistan broke the ceasefire violation and in retaliation Indian soldiers gave them befitting reply but 20 Indian soldiers  unfortunately  died in that retaliation. For it, Kunal 's team rushed to the spot as a reinforcement team. In the counter attack, Pakistan lost 15 soldiers and Kunal single handedly killed 8 pakistani soldiers including 2 were from Jamat- e- Isam terrorist group. Kunal got his first promotion to Caption rank and was awarded 'Veer Chakra'.He was made the commanding officer of 74th battalion and 62nd battalions posted on LOC. Nearly 5 months there was a complete peace around the border. Indian soldiers were instructed to surveillance the area and prepare for sudden attack from Pakistan. This monitoring process continued again for 3 months. One evening one message came from High Command that Pakistan was planning to launch a massive attack although their target is not properly known. Indian soldiers were commanded to be ready for counter attack.

One night suddenly pakistani rogue forces started firing towards the Indian camps.but their firing was not like a military operations, it seemed as if they wanted to alert India a bit about their position. Kunal was very intelligent officer. He understood easily that's it's a trick to cover the main intention. He ordered soldiers not to move forward and wait until the opponent's purpose was conceived. Nearly one hour passed after the firing was stopped, Kunal ordered his soldiers for an ambush. Indian soldiers cross fired and ambushed into Pakistani camps and killed as many as 20 soldiers and arrested 10 Pakistani soldiers. The injured 10 pak soldiers ,all covering with face mask were taken to Indian Army camps . Kunal tried to identify and saw a women among them. After interrogation he came to know she was a Pakistani lieutenant officer named Shehnaz khan. She got one bullet in her left leg. She even couldn't walk properly. All were sent to medical camps . Kunal visited every day to see the recovery of Pakistani forces. One night Shehnaz asked Kunal, " Mr. officer, can you bring me a copy and pen? ".He replied, " Why do you want? ".She said, " I can't move from here and I want to write something to spend the time till the recovery".Kunal managed the said articles.

We all know the bullet comes from the barrel of a gun but who knows, the flow of emotions from the ink of a pen can lead to love??

The story of a National Awardee

It was the day of 14th August, 2011-the best day and best moment in my life. The result was declared at about 4 pm at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi by The Ministry of Science and Technology. At 3: 59 pm I was a Governor awardee but I never thought that I would be a National Awardee by President of India at 4pm.only 1 sec is enough to change a person's recognition.

The journey from Barabendya Vivekananda High School to Eastern Region first  was very difficult . I used to remember the best saying of A P J Abdul kalam"Excellence happens not by accident, it's a process".So, I kept patience in the entire duration. DST started a programme called INSPIRE to choose young talents through scientific model and it was a pan India programme. For it, the Govt of India provided rs. 5000 to each and every school and the School was authorised to choose one student in any class/section of the school. I was selected by the Head master of BVHS for this programme . Sri Mittan Dhak, physics teacher was my mentor. I was very lucky to get such versatile, humble, and most respected teacher cum mentor. At that time I didn't have any idea what to do, how to do and how we choose the best among best. It took nearly one fortnight to decide which project we were going to make. Lastly, we made this. That 60 days before the District level competition was a tough time for us but we somehow could manage it. The process started from here....

One afternoon after the break of the class Head master sri Pranab Banerjee called me to the office room. After entering the room, all teachers we're present there and Mittan sir asked, " Have you decided any model till now? "I answered, " No sir, I am very Perplexed , I don't have any slightest idea about this ".He gave me task to think any innovative model. I took one fortnight to think and then told to HM about the protection of a bridge using renewable energy. But he was not satisfied with that project. Mittan Babu later told me what renewable energy you have chosen for it. " Cowdung", I said. ๐Ÿ˜€.. He smiled and said, "do you think it will be feasible to port from one place to others as it is a national level competition".I remained silent. Later One night He called my father and said, " Tell to Biplab that we will make project what was already decided as we don't have sufficient time ". Next part is the implementation of this project. A funny but very Streneous .

I made a group comprises kartik, koushik and Avijit, all are my classmates and friends. They assisted me with their level best. Mittan babu made a blueprint of this project in one day. The project components are the following:

Two big containers, two circuits, one small motor, one voltmeter, citric acid (lemon), two plates namely zinc and copper plate, and the big wooden bridge.

The making of wooden bridge started by our uncle and my father bought rest of the components. It took sixty days to complete this project. Despite failing several times, ultimately we made this.

Step 1: District level competition held in Bankura zilla school. Over 150+ schools participated. I demonstrated the project my level best. And the consequence of this, I was declared first in Bankura District. But as it's a National level competition, a miles to go before sleep.

Step 2: State level competition held in Yuva Bharati, salt Lake. A total 200 candidates were nominated for this state level competition. After watching various innovative models, I thought there was no ray of hope. But again My project got the first position in West Bengal. And I was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the Governor of West Bengal.

Step 3: National level competition held in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 11th August -14 th August, 2011.From west Bengal our education Director Mr. Ghatak sir along with 50 nominated candidates reached to new Delhi via sealdah - Rajdhani Express on 10th August. A group of teachers accompanied with us. 10th August from 6 pm in the evening, trial of demonstration started. I delivered 20 times demonstration. Uff! One of the teachers Amal sir told me in the morning of 11 th August, "Biplab I have faith on you, give your best".while entering into the camp of Pragati Maidan, I felt I was in the sea. What a project made by others state!! From Tamilnadu, Telengana, Kerala the students made mini robot, puzzling through magnetic field, and many expensive models. I then thought the game is over .How can I beat those students and their projects? It's impossible. I along with Some friends nominated from Bengal were all nervous. Then the time came and demonstration started. From 11 to 13 th August, we gave our demonstration to many scientists, juries, directors. The final day before the independence day has appeared before us like the final match of India vs Pakistan. Our teachers were  silent and we were in nervous. Just feel that situation๐Ÿ˜Œ!!

The President of India, smt Prativa Debisingh Patil was the chief guest. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ. The award function started sharply at 10 am.First announced the central region toppers. 3 students were selected as first, second and third. Their projects were amazing and innovative. Then announced the Eastern Region toppers. When my name announced as first position in Eastern Region it's like a bolt from the blue. I went on the stage and was awarded by the President of India a certificate, one medal, one gift of science. Really the best time for me. A rains of congratulations were coming from known and unknown members, mates, pals, and kith&kin. But the best part was the smile of my father on that day. Without him, it could not be happened. He is the ultimate role model in building my model and making me a confident guy.

Many many thanks to Mittan babu, our HM sri pranab Banerjee sir, my friends, my team members. Undoubtedly without their support and help it would not possible. 'Sacrificing many days for one D day' - really hard work pays off.

First Day as a Post Master

From the noted story"Postmaster"by Rabindranath Tagore, being a class 10 student I was very curious to know about the simple, humble lifestyle of a Postmaster as portrayed in that story. After my college, I got that chance cum champ to fulfill that dream. I got an offer letter from India Post to join as a Postmaster in Hemnagar, a village under Sundarban region, West Bengal. When the very first word 'Sundarban' reflected in my mind, the one thing 'Royal Bengal Tiger' instantly came to my mind thinking this time I can see them physically. And after some months finally I reached to Hemnagar village on August month in 2020.

Being an aliens there, everything took me as a new but it was like an" old wine in a new bottle". From childhood I was a travelling lover but count not get that opportunity that time but this time.. Yep..!! For the very first month, I could not manage any day and time to travel here and there and feel that emotions . But who knows so many good things were ready to welcome me.

I took a room in Jogeshganj, near about 5 km from Hemnagar village.Jogeshganj, the village cum town in this island was very beautiful and less populous. But the rent fee was a bit high comparing other places once I lived. Remembering ' don't be sad if u forget to put on the tie but make sure u have a tight fitting belt '๐Ÿ˜€ I ignored the fees thinking at least a room I could manage for the time being. The Day in August month really an august in attitude and tenderness in attire. I took a Toto( sometimes it is called the mini Auto) to reach Hemnagar from Jogeshganj at 10 am in the morning. It took 15 minutes to reach there. Once I reached Hemnagar More, I asked one women ,where is the post office? She gently replied 'yes' and helped me to track the route to office. The office looks was as usual as the the Govt office to be- a small room with advestor as it's rain consuming roof and the walls were not painted ๐Ÿ˜€, and two chairs and one bench for customers. That's cool!!

Office-in charge named Tapan kr Mandal welcomed me and started a 30 minutes conversation about me , my family and others. He is some 50+ age, in the first sight he took me as his son and beared me very well. Undoubtedly he is very humble and very conscious about everything and specially the 'red-tapism '.As I was new in office and novice in office work, he very calmly taught me everything in between lines in a nut shell. Some customers were also present there and they were also asking about me. All including office MD Tapan uncle became surprised about my postings and they way I selected the place. 'You have come from Bankura to here!', the distance made them perplexed. And after that a little conversation went on before their job was done.

My office MD laughed out when I told him the funny way ๐Ÿ˜†. "I choose Hemnagar as it's last five words denotes 'nagar'meaning city as I have no idea about those places enlisted during the form fillup" I told him. Later I understood all the pink and blues๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿฅฒ. I spent nearly two hours there. And I enjoyed a lot. How the time came to an end , I hardly trace it. A nice conversation, a lot of laugh, and some office works made my day and gave me a momentum of a thrilling and vibrant life.

There is a saying" While someone comes across a new perspective, a new positivity gains".I felt the same. Last but not least the experience of the very first day was beyond my expectations and it's really a memorable day to me.
